Glucophage is used to treat or prevent type 2 diabetes. It helps reduce blood sugar levels and may also be used to prevent kidney stones and kidney disease, as well as to prevent and treat type 2 diabetes.
Glucophage XR is a prescription drug and must be taken orally, and is available through a doctor’s prescription.

If you are allergic to Glucophage XR or any ingredient in the drug, or to metformin, you must tell your doctor before taking Glucophage XR.

Tell your doctor if you have or have had a history of liver problems, or diabetes, or any other medical conditions. This includes prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, or herbal products. A doctor’s prescription is required to take this drug.
Tell your doctor if you have a condition that affects your heart rhythm (such as irregular heartbeat, irregular heartbeats, or chest pain), or if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Your doctor will decide if this drug is right for you.
Tell your doctor if you are taking the drug fibrate (Glumetza) or any other medicines. You must not take Glucophage XR if you are taking a medicine containing fibrates (Glumetza).
Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding. If you are breast-feeding, your doctor will monitor your breast-fed child’s weight carefully while using this drug.

If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, ask your doctor before taking Glucophage XR. Your doctor will decide on the proper dosage of the drug, and this depends on your medical history and the condition you are in. Your doctor will let you know how this drug affects you.
Tell all your doctors and pharmacists about all the medicines you take. This includes prescription and over-the-counter medicines and vitamins. Tell your doctor and pharmacist about all the products you use (including vitamins, herbs, and nonprescription products).

Glucophage Tablet is used to treat type 2 diabetes as it liquids drink it together. It contains the active ingredient metformin. Glucophage Tablet is best taken with a meal to help reduce absorption of the drug and for 1 hour as part of a regular treatment.
The usual dose of Glucophage Tablet is one 5mg tablet taken once a day. You can take it with or without food, but unagitated treatment is unlikely to increase the dose, so to high altitudes, it is recommended to take it with a high-fat meal.
The tablets are easy to swallow so the recommended dose is one 5mg tablet taken once a day. Do not take 2 doses in a day without speaking to your doctor.
The active ingredient in Glucophage Tablet is Metformin. It is available only with a doctor’s prescription.
How to use:Take one 5mg Glucophage Tablet a day with or without food. If you have high blood sugar levels while taking Glucophage Tablet, use another diabetes medicine to treat the high levels of blood sugar. However, if high blood sugar levels become too much for you, your doctor may increase the dose to two 5mg tablets a day.
Possible side effects:The most common side effects of Glucophage Tablet are nausea, headache, blood in your urine, diarrhoea, stomach cramps, and diarrhoea from taking the medicine. Rarely, you may also experience dizziness or blurred vision, especially if you next to have fungal infections or liver problems.

Check with your doctor immediately if you notice muscle pain or weakness, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or swelling in your mouth, throat, or eyes, or other signs of kidney problems, as these may indicate the need to consult a doctor.
